In this blog I will be reviewing the accessories that elevate your Bullet riding experience. Click here to read my reviews on Performance Modifications for Royal Enfield Bullet. For the uninitiated my distinction method between a modification and an accessory is very simple. If you are replacing an original item of your Bull then it will be a modification, whereas if you are adding an object it becomes an accessory. So I consider an LED headlight as a mod, whereas the fog lights would be an accessory. By that same distinction the Deltran LiFePo4 batteries and the Boyer Bransen Powerbox are modifications as they can replace your existing battery. Crash guards though an integral part of motorcycle, since does not replace an existing part becomes an accessory.
In this blog I’ll not be reviewing riding gears like helmets, armor or gloves. This blog is strictly for the bullet. So if you find an innovative accessory that improves the Bullet riding experience do mention it in the comments section. Happy thumping.

Gear shift rubber socks review

Gear shift rubber socks
Gear shift rubber socks
Commuting to office can be a pain, specially due to the traffic congestion in Delhi NCR. Being a Bulleteer it presented less of a hassle to me until due to my office regulations I was required to come formally dressed to office. Motorcycling as we well know, is very unforgiving to formal clothes. I sorted out the "Dust in attire" problem by spending 5 mins of dusting off session after each ride. However I did not anticipate the amount of damage a gear shifter can do to your formal shoes. What started off as a mild discolouration on the front left side of my shoe, soon intensified into rough cracking leather until finally I had to discard and purchase a new pair of shoes. I started looking up for a solution and that is when I found these rubber socks for Gear shifter.

Pros or advantages of Gear shift rubber socks

Protects your shoe from gear shifter damage (In case you are used to lifting your gear shifter from the front of your shoe rather than depressing it from the back of your shoe). Fairly easy to put on and remove. Universal size fits all motorcycles.

Cons or issues with Gear shift rubber socks

Though the sock fits snugly on the gear shifter outer side, the inner side is loose as enfield gear shifter is not cylindrical all over. This may cause moister or muck to creep in causing rust. The very low quality socks can melt in the heat and stick to your shoes.

Further improvements required in Gear shift rubber socks

The product can be customised to different motorcycle gear shifts.

Usage tips for Gear shift rubber socks

Place it on the gear shifter and slowly slip it on through repeated motion. Be patient it might take time. If it is a tight fit you can coat the gear shifter with coconut oil, machine oil or any lubricating oil to slip it on more easily.
